What You See vs. What They Feel

We all love a cute harness. We’re here for it.

But your dog isn’t choosing based on trends – they’re living in it.

If a harness rubs, digs, squeezes or pulls in the wrong places, your dog can’t tell you.

But over time, a bad fit can cause:

  • Joint restriction
  • Muscle imbalance
  • Nerve pressure (especially around the neck and shoulders)
  • Behaviour changes from discomfort or pain

As a trainer I’ve seen it firsthand – dogs getting labelled “naughty” when they’re just uncomfortable.

Why Most Harnesses Hurt

1. Straps block shoulder movement
If a harness sits too high, it stops your dog’s shoulders moving freely.

They compensate with a weird stride = sore muscles, stiff joints, unhappy pup.

2. Front strap = throat pressure
When that chest piece is too short, it rides up into the throat. One pull on the lead and boom – pressure on the windpipe. Not kind.

3. Twisty, rubby nonsense
Loose harnesses slide around and rub in the same damn spot over and over. That means chafing, irritation, and a dog that ducks for cover when the harness comes out.

4. Wrestling match to get it on
Many harnesses go over the head or require lifting legs through straps. For seniors, arthritic dogs, or anxious rescues, that’s stressful and sometimes painful.

The WAGD Difference

We designed a harness that moves with your dog, not against them – and one they don’t have to wrestle with to wear.

  • Straps sit clear of sensitive joints
  • Long chest piece = no throat pressure
  • Secure fit that stays put, no rubbing
  • Clips on without going over the head
  • No leg-lifting, no manhandling – ideal for seniors, arthritic dogs, or wiggly pups

Because cute is for you. Comfort is for them. With WAGD, you get both.
